Introduction
Sanyezi ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Pricely handles your information when you use our mobile application.
In short: Pricely is a local-first app. There is no account and no Pricely server. Your items, prices, stores, and notes are stored in a database on your device. The app does send usage analytics (including item names, store names, and prices) to Google Analytics for Firebase, and shows ads served by Google AdMob. Both are described below.
Information We Collect
Local Data (Stored Only on Your Device)
The following data is stored in a local database on your device and is never sent to us:
- Items, categories, and barcodes you save
- Prices you record, including quantities, units, and sale flags
- Stores and store addresses
- Notes you add to items
- Preferences such as theme, language, currency, and measurement system
Usage Analytics
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand which features are used and to see which products, stores, and price levels are popular. When you use the app, the following may be sent:
- Feature usage events (for example, adding an item, logging a price, creating a backup) and screens viewed
- Item names and store names for the records an event relates to
- Prices you record: amount, currency, quantity, unit, and whether it was a sale price
- Buy-advisor verdicts shown (good deal, fair, pricey) and counts such as how many prices an item has
- Standard device and app information collected by Firebase (such as device model, OS version, app version, country, and an app-instance identifier)
We never send store addresses, item notes, barcodes, search text, category names, or error messages to analytics. Analytics data is not linked to your identity and is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Advertising Data
The free version of Pricely displays advertisements through Google AdMob. To serve ads, AdMob may collect certain information automatically, including:
- Device identifiers, including the advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you allow tracking when iOS asks
- IP address (used for approximate location-based ad targeting)
- Device information (model, OS version, screen size)
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)
On iOS, the app asks for permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before AdMob can use your advertising identifier. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will be less personalized. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. This data is collected and processed by Google in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. If you buy "Remove Ads," ads are no longer loaded.
Store Address Search
When you type an address while adding a store, the text you type is sent to Photon, a public geocoding service built on OpenStreetMap data and operated by komoot, to suggest matching addresses. The request contains only the search text and does not include any account or device identifier from Pricely. Using address search is optional.
Camera
If you choose to scan a barcode, Pricely asks for access to your camera. The camera feed is processed on your device only to read the barcode. No images or video are stored or transmitted.
In-App Purchases
The optional "Remove Ads" purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment information. The app records whether a purchase was started, completed, restored, or failed as an analytics event, without any payment details.
How We Use Your Information
- Local data is used only to provide the app's features: price comparison, buy advice, inflation trends, and backups
- Analytics data is used to understand how the app is used, fix problems, and decide what to improve, including aggregate reports on popular products, stores, and price levels
- Advertising data is used by Google AdMob to serve ads
We do not sell your personal information.
Backups
When you create a backup, Pricely writes a file containing your data and lets you save or share it wherever you choose (for example, the Files app, iCloud Drive, or email). Where that file goes is your choice. Pricely does not upload it anywhere on its own, and it is then subject to the privacy terms of the service you chose to store or send it with.
Third-Party Services
- Google Analytics for Firebase for usage analytics — Firebase Privacy
- Google AdMob for advertising — How Google uses information from partner apps
- Photon (komoot) for store address suggestions — komoot Privacy Policy
- Apple App Store for in-app purchases — Apple Privacy Policy
Data Security
Your local data is protected by your device's built-in security features. Data sent to the third-party services above is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and handled according to their own security practices.
Your Rights and Choices
- View, edit, and delete your items, prices, and stores in the app
- Export all your data at any time with a backup file
- Allow or deny tracking for personalized ads in iOS Settings
- Deny or revoke camera access in iOS Settings
- Uninstall the app to permanently remove all locally stored data
Usage analytics are collected automatically and there is currently no in-app switch to turn them off. Because analytics data is not linked to your identity, we cannot look up the data for a specific person. However, depending on where you live (for example, in the EEA, the UK, or California), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data or to object to its processing. Contact us at the address below and we will help as far as we can.
Data Retention
Local data stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Analytics data is kept by Google Analytics according to the retention period set for our property, after which it is deleted automatically. Advertising data is retained by Google according to its own policies.
Children's Privacy
Pricely is a general-audience shopping utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when the app gains new features. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
